Our school conducts 3 interhouse carnivals each year; athletics, cross country and swimming. Students represent their house at these carnivals. Students are allocated one of two sporting houses, Cunningham or Leslie, upon enrolment. Read more about sporting house allocation (PDF, 221KB).
At Nobby SS interhouse sporting events (athletics, swimming and cross country), we determine a winner of the house trophy. To determine the winners, we calculate points accrued by the members of each team, and divide the total by the total number of students in the house. Students that are absent on the day of the event are still counted as members of the house for the purpose of determining the winning house.
We host a participation triathlon during term 1 each year. Students in years 3-6 from neighbouring schools are invited to attend. Our junior students, Prep-year 2, take part in a mini triathlon before the senior triathlon begins.
Our school is a member of the Central Downs Sporting District. Students are eligible to trial for CD teams throughout the year.
The CD association is part of the larger Southern Downs Sporting District. To attend SD events, students must firstly attend and be successful at, or selected in, the CD event.
